Personally, writing this song taps into the doubts we all have asked at one point or another of whether God is really there. Are they seeing the pain and suffering of the world? Is this part of his/her plan? Whether you’re Christian, Muslim, Jewish or any other religion, maybe God is in all of us and instead of looking up all we have to do it look at each other.

sometimes i fail, in disbelief and never know if it’s real
with no rhyme or reason something shakes my core

we tread through this life hoping to find some semblance of the existential
pretending we each have our own relationship or that our religion is the right way to god
disregarding similarities we all share and the compass that points us in the right direction
brings questions upon questions of color, creed and shade
